DEI Council: Meet Alexandria Synder

Alexandria Snyder

We are profiling each of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council members in each edition of the college's newsletter – In the KNOW.

Meet Alexandria Snyder, student member of the DEI Council.

What's your 'why'? Why did you join the DEI Council?
I joined the DEI council because it was a great opportunity to grow and learn while being active in the journey of diversity, equity, and inclusion work.

What change do you hope to see?
I hope to see change in the college environment – in the sense of belonging on all campuses/classrooms, and to cultivate an overall college environment where everyone feels safe to be themselves.

How can all employees be a part of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at SLCC?
All students and employees can take part by looking for ways to be active and acting on them. For example, students with available time can join an organization or participate in events and programming. A simple way to take part is by respecting and listening to everyone you encounter.

What words do you live by?
You can't change what you won't measure.
