LOUISIANA TRANSFER DEGREES
Program Overview
The Transfer Degree Guarantee (TDG) helps students easily transfer from a two-year or community college to a four-year university in the state of Louisiana. It provides guidance and saves time and money.
TDG insures that a community college student can transfer to a Louisiana four-year public university and immediately enroll with Junior-level status in most majors. The student must complete 60 hours of prescribed courses, with a minimum grade of “C” in each course and earn either an Associate of Arts with concentrations in Humanities, and Social Sciences or an Associate of Science with concentrations in Biology and Physical Science.
Take a look at the Degee Plans:
- Associate of Science in Louisiana Transfer - Biological Sciences
- Associate of Science in Louisiana Transfer - Physical Sciences
- Associate of Arts in Louisiana Transfer - Humanities
- Associate of Arts in Louisiana Transfer - Social Science
The 60 hours of required course work includes 39 hours of General Education courses and 21 hours of additional course work specific to the student’s intended degree.

In addition, 2+2 pathways offer students the opportunity to complete the first half of a bachelor’s degree program at SLCC. After earning an associate degree at SLCC, students seamlessly transfer to a partnering university to complete the second half of the chosen pathway, leading to their bachelor’s degree.
Students can complete the Associate of Science Louisiana Transfer in Biology at SLCC with the intention to transfer to Nicholls State University for a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
