MARITIME STRUCTURAL FITTER

Maritime Structural Fitters, also known as Ship Fitters, work in shipyards and construction sites to build and repair ships and other metal structures.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Our 12-weeks Structural Fitter program lets you master real-world skills, in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, where you'll learn how to weld, shape, and grind metal sheets, read blueprints, and use the necessary tools of the industry.

You will earn certifications in NCCER Core, Shipfitter Level 1, and Shipfitter Level 2.

WHEN/WHERE: This is a daytime course offered at SLCC's Morgan City campus starting July 1, 2024.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Age: 16+.
  • No High School, GED or HiSET required*

*A high school or HiSET diploma is required for most financial aid grant applications.
