Maritime Structural Fitters, also known as Ship Fitters, work in shipyards and construction sites to build and repair ships and other metal structures.
SLCC’s Maritime Shipfitter course will train you to use the tools necessary to weld, shape, and grind metal sheets, as well as read blueprints. You will earn certifications in NCCER Core, Shipfitter Level 1, and Shipfitter Level 2.
This is a 12-week day course offered at SLCC's Morgan City campus.
