Commercial Vehicle Operation

Our CDL program offers customized training for businesses and individuals. We have courses that help with work skills, refreshers, and safety training. 

Our CDL Class A or B license training program is a comprehensive 245-hour classroom and behind-the-wheel program. The training covers DOT rules and regulations, pre-trip inspection, backing pad skills, and on-the-road skills. The final skills test necessary to receive a state license is administered by SLCC's state-approved examiners. Funding options are available. 

A variety of options are available for training: 

Completers who obtain their state license are qualified to drive tractor-trailersdump truckstow trucksdelivery truckstanker trucks, and flatbed trucks

The American Trucking Association estimates a shortage of 50,000 truck drivers. Companies are hiring and offering good benefits and pay. Take advantage of this opportunity to drive your way to a better life for you and your family. 

We offer CDL classes at the following campuses: Acadian Campus in Crowley, Young Memorial Campus in Morgan City, New Iberia Campus, and C.B. Coreil Campus in Ville Platte.
