Lead Peer Tutor

If you are a good student, have good interpersonal & managerial skills, are interested in helping other students with coursework and learning strategies and developing your leadership abilities, consider working with us. You will participate in ongoing tutor training programs, learn the various daily operations with the Academic Success Center and the Center for Minority Excellence and develop necessary skills for success in the future. Peer Tutor

Supplemental Instruction Leader (SI-Leader)

Supplemental Instruction is an exemplary, peer-led academic assistance program designed to help students succeed in challenging courses. Supplemental Instruction leaders collaborate with faculty to organize and deliver additional study sessions to aid students in learning course material. Qualities that an excellent SI-leader should possess are great interpersonal and communication skills, ability to lead or desire to lead a group of students (4-10 students per SI-session) and stress and time management abilities. Front Desk Assistant

Front desk assistants play an important role in the operation of the center.  They are the first point of contact for all entering or calling the center, and as such they must possess excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills.  They also help maintain the front desk area, provide information about center activities, and share administrative and maintenance concerns. Training is provided. If you are currently enrolled at SLCC as a full-time student and qualify for work study, consider working with us in the Academic Learning Center.
