About Us News

South Louisiana Community College is currently finalizing the list of students that meet all eligibility requirements as outlined above. We want to carefully review all students to make sure that everyone that is eligible receives the funds. We appreciate your patience.

Rest assured, we are working as quickly as possible to determine which students will receive funds based on the eligibility requirements as established by the USDOE. Currently, there is nothing for you to do. If you are eligible to receive funds, we will communicate directly with you through email.

Join us for a Virtual College Fair May 5 and 6. Our Center for Minority Excellence is hosting this online event for high school students and parents. Representatives from SLCC's CME, Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid offices will be in attendance.

South Louisiana Community College’s Corporate College will now offer an online Notary Exam Prep course in addition to the online hybrid/in-person course. This course will prepare students for the State’s Notary exam administered on August 29.

To accommodate students needing to take the Accuplacer exam, SLCC's Testing Center is administering the test online. Testers must be able to access wifi and have a computer/laptop with a microphone and webcam.

These workshops are for all students who have final exams in their respective courses. These workshops are free.

The bipartisan companion of this bill, H.R. 6322, passed the House last week and included provisions. Several institutions of higher education, including SLCC, are waiting on further guidance once the legislation passes the Senate.  Please continue to check with the VA Office and the SLCC website for updates.

SLCC has made some adjustments to its summer schedule and we wanted to let you know about these adjustments. Find out about your program and any  course format changes.
