South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc) has announced the permanent appointment of Dr. Tiffany Howard as Vice President for Economic, Workforce Development, and Continuing Education, effective January 3, 2026.
Following a competitive national search, a rigorous interview process, and a year of dedicated service in an interim capacity, Dr. Howard’s appointment reflects the confidence placed in her leadership and vision during a pivotal period for the College. Over the past year, she has provided steady guidance and strategic direction while advancing initiatives critical to SoLAcc’s mission and long-term goals.
In her interim role, Dr. Howard played a key role in developing the Economic, Workforce Development, and Continuing Education (EWD&CE) Strategic Plan and worked closely with Academic Affairs to better align non-credit opportunities with earned credentials. She also led a thoughtful restructuring of the division to ensure its work is seamlessly aligned with the College’s broader strategic direction—strengthening institutional operations and expanding workforce pathways for students and employers alike.
Dr. Howard brings nine years of experience in higher education and workforce development. Her deep institutional knowledge, collaborative leadership style, and demonstrated results position her well to continue advancing SoLAcc’s workforce and continuing education efforts in a permanent capacity.
The College congratulates Dr. Howard on this well-deserved appointment and looks forward to the continued impact of her leadership across Acadiana.
