2021 SLCC Employee Giving Campaign: STRONGER TOGETHER
We’re stronger together when we give together. A lot has changed over the last year, but one thing that has not changed is our commitment to our students, our employees, and our community. We’ve seen countless examples of resilience as our students have conquered online learning and our faculty and staff have found new and innovative ways to connect and collaborate.
In these uncertain times, the need is great for many of our students and our employees. They need our support, now more than ever. We can help our SLCC family while raising the bar for SLCC’s future by donating to the 2021 Employee Giving Campaign.
By participating in the SLCC Employee Giving Campaign, employees demonstrate pride in and dedication to our students and our community. We also send a powerful message to those outside the college, such as legislators, corporations and foundations, and alumni and friends that we are committed to SLCC. Positive numbers in employee giving and board member giving are often important factors for external funders when considering gifts to SLCC.
While the SLCC Foundation has been successful in raising external gifts over the last few years, 97% of the funds raised are restricted by donors for very specific uses. This leaves little funding remaining to aid other important initiatives and programs such as divisional-level student scholarships, student food pantries, employee leadership programs, and student and employee emergency funds.
The focus of the Employee Giving Campaign is to raise funds to support affordable higher education opportunities for our students while also supporting our faculty and staff, and other high-priority needs. SLCC students who have been the recipients of employee generosity in the past have commented that scholarships as well as emergency funds have had a significant impact on their success and determination to complete their program.

SLCC faculty and staff choose the amount they wish to give and the area in which they wish to have a direct impact. Through the past and current employee giving campaigns, employees’ gifts have significantly benefitted student scholarships and emergency funding, academic programs and a wide variety of college initiatives.
You can give as much as you feel compelled to give. We know that you probably contribute to many worthwhile organizations, and we ask you to consider supporting our students and the College at the same level. Please consider participating at whatever level works best for you.
Our goal is participation — every gift is truly important! The SLCC Employee Giving Campaign shows the power of each individual. When one person’s gift adds to another’s, and another’s, together, our gifts add up to a significant amount. But most of all we demonstrate to our friends and funders who have invested on our behalf that we share their commitment.
In appreciation for your support, the SLCC Foundation will recognize you on our website and in the annual report. However, the amount of your gift will be kept confidential. If you wish to give your gift anonymously, you may designate so on your donation form.
SLCC Sustainer’s Circle donors are SLCC Employee Giving Campaign donors of $500 or more ($20.84/pay period) for the fiscal year. Each year, a small group of Employee Giving Campaign supporters will gather to celebrate the Sustainer’s Circle Celebration along with testimonials from students who have benefitted from scholarships, emergency funds, and more. With your help, our efforts will continue to amplify in ways that are transformative and lasting for SLCC students.
When you select the SLCC Highest Priority Need as your giving preference, your unrestricted gift allows the SLCC Foundation to address critical unmet funding needs. A gift to this fund provides the greatest flexibility to deliver funding to SLCC and provide community outreach.
The Employee Giving Campaign is a great opportunity to make a gift in honor or in memory of someone special to you. At your direction, we can send notice of your gift to the honoree or family members of your choice. You may consider directing your gift to one of our many funds established in honor, or in memory of SLCC employees, retirees, alumni and students. Examples include the John Wright Memorial Scholarship, the Craig Strain Memorial Endowed Scholarship, and the Micah Craven Memorial Scholarship.
Deductions are after-tax, as federal law does not allow for charitable donations through payroll deduction to be deducted before taxes.
