Two members of South Louisiana Community College’s executive team recently received promotions. Lana Fontenot has been promoted to Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement and Jermaine Ford has been promoted to Vice Chancellor for Economic and Workforce Development. Both held associate positions prior to their appointments, effective July 29.

Lana Fontenot“Since beginning her work at SLCC, Ms. Fontenot has continually raised the bar in terms of external engagement, community outreach, and fundraising,” said Dr. Natalie Harder, SLCC Chancellor. “Under her leadership, the SLCC Foundation’s assets have grown from less than $1 million to almost $4 million today and SLCC’s portfolio of grants is more than $16 million.”Jermaine Ford

Fontenot has been with SLCC for nearly seven years. In 2014, she was named Director of Development and Executive Director of the SLCC Foundation. In 2017, she was named Associate Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement.

Ford has been with SLCC for nearly four years. He started with the community college as Director of Corporate College in 2015. Two years later, he was promoted to Associate Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development. In addition, Ford has been an adjunct professor for two years.

“Mr. Ford’s leadership has resulted in amazing opportunities for Acadiana through SLCC’s Corporate College. Growing from about 300 students to almost 4,000 students, Corporate College is the premier non-credit workforce education and training provider for many individuals and companies throughout our region,” said Harder. “Through his efforts, the college now manages the Workforce Innovation an Opportunities Act operations and a Department of Labor Apprenticeship grant, further expanding SLCC’s reach and programming in Acadiana and beyond.”
