Carpentry Info Session Happening Thursday, Aug. 15

A Career Information Session will be hosted on Thursday, August 15, by SLCC’s Corporate College Carpentry program.  The event will take place at SLCC’s Lafayette Campus in the Ardoin Building, 1101 Bertrand Drive from 4– 6 p.m. This is a free event that is open to the public.

In addition to learning about SLCC’s short-term Carpentry program, attendees will hear about tuition assistance options and meet with instructors. Master’s Guild of Acadiana employer members will also be on hand to speak to the attendees about their experiences in working in carpentry.

SLCC’s short-term Carpentry program was created in 2018 to meet the needs of the community.  The program offers a 4-month level 1 course and a 4-month level 2 course. Carpentry courses are taught at SLCC’s St. Martinville Campus.

The Corporate College was created in 2015 to offer continuing education courses, leisure learning programs, and customized training for businesses across 10 campuses. Short-term training programs to prepare community members to meet the demands of area businesses is its focus.

For more information on the carpentry information session, call SLCC’s Corporate College Carpentry administrative office at 337-788-7526 or 337-788-8108.
