Please keep an eye on your email accounts for more details regarding graduation regalia delivery.

Honors Graduates and Phi Theta Kappa Graduates

Graduating with Honors and graduating as a Phi Theta Kappa member are two different achievements. Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society to which 3.0 students at SLCC are invited, and those students pay membership fees to join. Students who are Phi Theta Kappa members often graduate with honors, and Honors Graduates are often Phi Theta Kappa members, but joining PTK does not guarantee that a student will be an Honors Graduate. To graduate with honors, a student must have a Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher; these students will be given honors cords on the day of Commencement. PTK students can purchase PTK cords and stoles via the PTK online store: https://www.ptk.org/Store/Graduation.

Diplomas/Degrees

A diploma holder will be issued to each candidate as he or she walks across the stage at the commencement ceremony, and a diploma will be given to each candidate once he or she walks off of the stage (except in the case that a student has a financial or academic hold). If you do not participate in the commencement ceremony, you may pick up your diploma from the Registrar’s Office beginning on the day after commencement and continuing through the next few weeks, or you may wait for it to be mailed to you; if you choose the latter option, be sure to confirm your mailing address with the Registrar’s Office. Diplomas are usually mailed 1-2 months after Commencement.

Graduation Parking

All graduates, friends, and families are advised to park in the back of the Cajundome Convention Center; turning off of Cajundome Boulevard onto Reinhardt Drive, all drivers should look for the parking lot on the left after the Convention Center. Parking in the front of the building is reserved for SLCC and Cajundome employees.

Graduation Pictures

Approximately two weeks after graduation, all SLCC graduates will receive sample proofs of their graduation pictures along with order forms. Order forms will include instructions on how to students can order pictures as well as the price options from Candid Campus Photography. This information will be sent to the email on file with SLCC.

Graduation Tickets

SLCC does NOT issue graduation tickets. Students are allowed to invite as many guests as they would like.
