Dr. Vincent June receives the Difference Maker Award from Studer Education.
South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc) Chancellor Dr. Vincent June has been named the 2026 recipient of the Difference Maker Award, presented by Studer Education during the Destination High Performance Higher Education Leadership Conference, held June 1–2 in Pensacola Beach, Florida.
The Difference Maker Award recognizes leaders who exemplify outstanding personal and professional values while driving meaningful, measurable success within their organizations and communities.
Dr. June was recognized for his leadership in strengthening SoLAcc’s role as a driver of workforce development and economic mobility across Acadiana. Under his leadership, the College has expanded academic and workforce programs, deepened partnerships with industry, and advanced initiatives that align education with regional workforce needs.
An independent economic impact study further underscores that impact, showing that one out of every 97 jobs in Acadiana is supported by SoLAcc and its graduates, and that the College generates more than $13 in societal return for every $1 invested.

His proactive leadership has positioned the college as a key contributor to the economic engine of the Acadiana region,” said Dr. Janet Pilcher, CEO of Studer Education. “A college is only as good as its leader, and Dr. June’s vision for South Louisiana Community College has been both intentional and impactful,” said Lana Fontenot, vice chancellor for institutional advancement and external relations. “He has strengthened our connection to the communities we serve and positioned the College as a leader in workforce development. This recognition reflects the real difference SoLAcc is making across Acadiana."
