SoLAcc proudly announces that Chancellor Dr. Vincent June has been named the 2026 recipient of the E. Joseph Savoie Chief Executive Leadership Award, presented by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District IV. He received the honor at the organization’s annual district conference.

The award recognizes outstanding college and university leaders who demonstrate exceptional vision, inspire others, and elevate the role of education through innovation and advancement. CASE District IV represents institutions across Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Dr. June was selected for his forward-thinking leadership and his commitment to strengthening SoLAcc’s impact across Acadiana, aligning the College’s mission with the evolving needs of students, employers, and communities.

Since becoming Chancellor in 2021, Dr. June has led a period of purposeful growth at SoLAcc, expanding access, strengthening partnerships, and building a culture focused on student success and long-term sustainability. Under his leadership, the College has elevated its visibility, strengthened its foundation, and positioned itself as a driving force in workforce development across the region.

This impact is reflected in the College’s recent Economic Impact Study, which found that SoLAcc contributes nearly $300 million annually to the Acadiana economy. The report underscores the College’s role as a key driver of economic mobility and regional growth, a vision Dr. June has championed throughout his tenure.

“Dr. June’s vision for South Louisiana Community College has been both bold and intentional,” said Lana Fontenot, Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement and External Relations. “He has unified our institution around a shared purpose, strengthened our connection to the community, and positioned SoLAcc as a leader in workforce development and student success. This recognition is a testament to his impact not only on our College, but on the entire region.”

Among his many accomplishments, Dr. June led a comprehensive institutional rebrand that reintroduced SoLAcc to the region, fostering renewed pride and connection among students, faculty, and stakeholders. He has also advanced the College’s approach to philanthropy and engagement, expanding the Foundation’s reach, strengthening donor relationships, and championing the development of SoLAcc’s first comprehensive Case for Support.

During his tenure, the College’s grant portfolio has significantly expanded, philanthropic investment has grown, and new opportunities have been created to support student access and success. He has also prioritized professional development across the institution, ensuring faculty and staff are equipped with the tools and training needed to advance the College’s mission.

“Education has the power to change lives, families, and communities,” said Dr. June. “I am honored to receive this award, but it truly reflects the collective work of our faculty, staff, students, and partners who believe in the mission of SoLAcc. Together, we are building something that will have lasting impact for generations.”

The E. Joseph Savoie Chief Executive Leadership Award is one of the highest honors presented by CASE District IV, recognizing leaders who have made significant contributions to advancing education and strengthening their institutions’ role in their communities.
