student with financial aid application

This February, the Office of Financial Aid at South Louisiana Community College is celebrating Financial Aid Awareness Month with FAFSA workshops, webinars, and a chance to win one of five scholarships.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, known as the FAFSA, is a form every student must fill out to get federal financial aid for college.

To help you apply, the Office of Financial Aid is offering hands-on FAFSA completion workshops on February 9 and February 22 at the Lafayette Campus. Click on the links for details. Registration is not necessary to attend.

Students are also eligible to apply for a chance to win one of five Financial Aid Awareness Scholarships, which were developed to encourage FAFSA completion and provide the necessary tools to help strengthen financial literacy and wellness for all our students.

The deadline to submit scholarship applications is 11:59 p.m. on February 28, 2023. Winners will be announced Friday, March 3, 2023 via the Office of Financial Aid's Facebook (@SLCCFA) and Instagram (@slcc_financialaid) pages.
