Annual fund campaign you + SLCC= the perfect pair

The South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) Foundation is hosting its Annual Fund Campaign from November 15, 2022, to January 1, 2023. The campaign is called, YOU+SLCC=The Perfect Pair.

For a minimum gift of $25, donors will receive a pair of limited edition SLCC-branded socks. Throughout the year, partners and friends of the college can rock the socks on #GivingTuesday, College Colors Day, Commencement Day, Community College Week, or at their next staff meeting.

The SLCC Foundation Annual Fund benefits students through annual gifts from South Louisiana Community College’s partners. These contributions ensure access to quality education without financial hardship, through academic scholarships and student aid. The Annual Fund also provides opportunities for program improvements, training opportunities, and more.

“The SLCC Foundation continues to be strongly committed to providing a high-quality, affordable education,” said Development Officer Morgan Wampler. “You can help by supporting the SLCC Foundation’s Annual Fund.”

The funds allow flexibility for the college to allocate support to the most pressing needs of the college and students, for instance:

  • $25 can be used for an Accuplacer testing fee to match student skills to relevant courses;
  • $50 can equip a technical student with steel-toe work boots;
  • $100 can fund a new bike for a student without transportation;
  • $250 can buy chef whites and tools for an at-risk culinary student;
  • $500 provides a stocked location of The Pantry for two months to assist food-insecure students;
  • and $1,000 funds a scholarship that pays for nearly 50% of a full-time student’s classes.

“This holiday season, we invite our friends and partners to support the causes that are closest to them, whether that’s the program that shaped their future, a campus in their community, or scholarships to help support more students at SLCC," Wampler said. “When you make a contribution to SLCC’s Annual Fund, our entire community benefits from your generosity.”

Donations can be made at www.solacc.edu/donate or by mailing a check payable to “SLCC Foundation” at 1101 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA 70506. For more information, please email Morgan Wampler at morgan.wampler@solacc.edu
