Faulk to Serve as Campus Director in St. Martinville, Franklin

Langston Faulk

ST. MARTINVILLE – A familiar face is leading South Louisiana Community College’s Evangeline and Franklin Campuses as campus director.

Langston Faulk, who’s previously served as campus director at the college’s Gulf Area Campus in Abbeville, began serving in his new role Sept. 7. He most recently worked as an academic success coordinator for SLCC’s Center for Minority Excellence.

“I can truly say that each position I’ve held has prepared me for this moment to lead both the Evangeline and Franklin Campuses,” said Faulk.

His priorities for both campuses involve building meaningful relationships with the citizens of St. Martin and St. Mary parishes as well as evaluating ways to build sustainable success.

“I take pride in asking myself a question every day and that question is ‘A.R.E. you in?’ A.R.E. is an acronym I created that stands for admissions, retention, and engagement. I ask myself this every day as a reminder of the commitment I have to the students and citizens of both parishes,” Faulk said.

He said his experience in Vermilion Parish is giving him the determination to succeed in his new role. “The faculty, staff, and people of Vermilion Parish really supported me and the vision I had for that campus,” he said. “Building a culture of transparency and inclusivity was important to me. I wanted our students to feel like they were part of the growth of our campus. Building those relationships proved to be very consequential.”

He’s most excited about the potential of each campus. “I believe that we cannot be cookie-cutter when we think about how to build sustainable success at each campus,” Faulk noted. “So, I am really excited about using my creativity to find various ways to create a culture that represents the city/parish of each campus.”

Faulk earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business with a human resource management concentration and a master's degree in management and leadership from Liberty University.
