Christine Payton, South Louisiana Community College’s director of Communications and Marketing, recently was re-appointed to the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations’ national board.

Payton, re-appointed by the board’s executive officers, is serving a two-year term as a Director-At-Large. She previously served for two years as Director-At-Large on the 14-member board. She will work with colleagues on strategic planning, policy-making, and other issues of national importance -- all to help move NCMPR forward as the leading professional development organization for two-year college marketing and PR professionals.

In addition, Payton co-chairs NCMPR’s Programming and Professional Resources Committee, is a guest blogger, and contributor to the organization’s magazine, Counsel. She’s been a member since 2012 and has served as a Medallion and Paragon Awards judge, and as Assistant Director for NCMPR’s District 2.

In 2018, Payton was recognized by NCMPR as its Communicator of the Year.

NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. As one of the fastest-growing affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCMPR has more than 1,700 members from nearly 650 colleges across the United States and Canada.
