SLCC Offering Two New Courses: Leadership Training, CPR

LAFAYETTE – South Louisiana Community College is offering a new Leadership Training course and a CPR course at its Lafayette campus.

The Leadership Training course is a 40-hour course designed to help new managers learn the art of leadership and for experienced managers to brush up on their skills.  A 4-hour CPR class is also new to SLCC Lafayette.

The Leadership Training course will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. beginning February 2. This course will include the following sessions:  Leadership 101, Adapting Your Leadership Style, Communicating as a Manager, Managing the Work of Your Direct Reports, Developing Your Direct Reports, Coaching Conversations, Delegating for Growth, Motivating Employees to Be Their Best, Behavioral Interviews, and Super Leader. The fee for this course is $1,999.

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) will be taught on Friday, January 29 from 9 a.m. – noon. This course will follow the American Hearth Associations guidelines for responding to medical emergencies. The cost of this course is $100.
