LAFAYETTE – As part of the new Reboot Your Career Program launched by Louisiana Community and Technical College System, South Louisiana Community College is able to offer additional tuition assistance for several of its short-term training courses.

To help those who are unemployed or underemployed due to COVID-19, training programs where students earn an industry credential in 12 weeks or less are eligible for this additional assistance.

The SLCC short-term programs that qualify for reduced tuition are Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, CDL (truck driving), Power Lineman, Scaffold Building, Welding, Structural Fitter, Tankerman, Able Seafarer, Master 100 Ton, Master 200 Ton, and Apprenticemate/Steersman

The Reboot Your Career Program is possible through federal CARES Act funding, which is available now through the spring of 2021. The goal of the Reboot Program is to train 5,000 of Louisiana residents for in-demand jobs through short-term training courses.

SLCC has campuses in Lafayette, New Iberia, Morgan City, Abbeville, Crowley, Ville Platte, St. Martinville, Franklin, and Opelousas.
