South Louisiana Community College’s Corporate College Division is offering free online training courses for OSHA-10 General and OSHA-10 Construction for the first 150 people who register to encourage life-long learning.

OSHA-10 General training is ideal for those who work in healthcare, manufacturing, or warehousing. The training provides awareness of recognizing and preventing hazards on a general industry site. To register for this course, visit bit.ly/OSHA10GENSLCC.

OSHA-10 Construction training is geared towards those in building development and construction. In this course, you will learn about recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. To register for this course, visit bit.ly/OSHACNST.

The online OSHA courses are self-paced and include 10 hours of instruction. Interested community members can sign up for one of the two courses. There are no registration or textbook fees.

“With the impact of COVID-19, SLCC’s Corporate College is offering ways to strengthen our local economy. Offering the OSHA-10 credential is an opportunity for the underemployed and unemployed to become a viable candidate for jobs in restricted environments,” said Anthony Baham, Director for Maritime & Continuing Education at SLCC.

SLCC’s Corporate College was established in 2015. This division of SLCC offers short-term training for in-demand jobs to meet the needs of the community’s workforce.
