Message to Students about Spring Graduation Ceremony Postponement

Good morning,

As Chancellor Dr. Natalie Harder explained in her Friday email, our state system has required all colleges to postpone Spring 2020 graduation ceremonies.  A new date hasn't been chosen, but I'll send out updates as soon as I have more information for you all.

In the meantime, I'll follow-up with the SLCC Bookstore to identify your options regarding graduation regalia, announcements, and other items that you may have ordered.  I'll ask about options for refunds AND for updating dates on the announcements/still receiving the regalia orders.

I'm canceling Grad Fest for now, as I have very little information for you at the moment.  I'll reschedule Grad Fest once we have a concrete plan for moving forward.

Finally, please note that only the commencement ceremony is being postponed.  Your degrees will still be awarded at the end of this semester as long as you've met all of your requirements for graduation.

Have a great week, and stay safe!
