Inaugural Phlebotomy Class Graduates in Opelousas

OPELOUSAS – South Louisiana Community College graduated eight students from its inaugural Phlebotomy Technician course at the T.H. Harris campus on Friday, February 14.  This 10-week course trained the students to collect blood specimens in a healthcare setting.

“The class was good and very informative,” said Ra’Naisha Patin, graduate of the Phlebotomy Technician program. “Mrs. Tiffany Beverly is a very good instructor and takes the time to make sure each student has a full understanding of what we are learning. I would recommend this class to anyone.”

Of the eight graduates, two will continue their studies at SLCC to earn their Medical Assistant degree. The six other graduates have found jobs in the healthcare industry.

Graduates include: pictured (left to right): Claire Miller, Brittany Tezeno, Chelsie Theriot, Donangelle Richard, Destany Jack, Ra’Naisha Patin, Deleah Wilson,  and Mrs. Tiffany Beverly (Instructor).  Not pictured: Fantasia Thomas.
