First Power Lineman Class to Graduate Jan. 24 in Crowley

CROWLEY – South Louisiana Community College will host a graduation ceremony for its first class of Power Lineman on Friday, January 24.  The event will be held from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at SLCC’s Acadian Campus in Crowley.

Graduating students, their families, SLCC business partners, and faculty and staff will be in attendance.  Graduates will receive their certificate of completion for the 25-week program, and a representative from CLECO will speak about the importance of the Power Lineman course in Acadiana.

SLCC’s short-term Power Lineman program was created through partnerships with CLECO, SLEMCO, LUS, and Entergy to meet the needs of the community. The Power Lineman course is taught in Crowley.

The non-credit program is offered through SLCC’s Corporate College division, which offers continuing education courses at 10 campuses.
