Defensive Driving Course Coming to New Iberia Campus

NEW IBERIA – South Louisiana Community College’s Corporate College will begin offering a Defensive Driving course at its New Iberia campus this month. The classroom-style program will be a highly interactive driver-improvement program that focuses on the importance of attitude in accident prevention and good driving skills.

The course will cover vehicle malfunctions and maintenance, occupant protection laws, the “fatal four” causes of crashes, hazard recognition, collision avoidance, personal driving style evaluation, defensive driving techniques, and how driver behavior and mental conditions affect driving.

The Defensive Driving course is relevant for experienced licensed drivers in need of a refresher course, traffic violators who have been ordered to take a driver improvement course, or companies wanting to ensure fleet drivers are operating fleet vehicles safely.

The 4-hour class is $125 with no textbook or manual required.  Register for the September 21 class at http://bit.ly/DrivingCourse.

South Louisiana Community College created the Corporate College in 2015 to offer continuing education courses, leisure learning programs, and customized training for businesses across 10 campuses. Short-term training programs to prepare community members to meet the demands of area businesses is its focus.
