Key Administrators Join Team at SLCC

Two key administrators recently joined South Louisiana Community College. Brad Breaux was named Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Dr. Katheryne Pavey is Dean of Student Services. Both positions will be responsible for operations throughout the college’s nine-campus footprint.

In his new role, Breaux will oversee information technology operations for all of SLCC’s campuses. He will provide vision and leadership in the development and implementation of information systems to support business operations and achieve more effective and cost-beneficial college-wide operations.

Brad BreauxA native of Lafayette, Breaux is a graduate of St. Thomas More High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Business Systems Analysis and Technology. With more than 20 years of experience in technology-related fields serving in the oil and gas industry, he previously served as the infrastructure services manager for Stone Energy. He oversaw networking, communications, and data center operations for the company. He also managed all field IT operations for all of Stone Energy’s operating are

He is also a dual rated private pilot in rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft. He is currently working on his commercial rating in helicopter at SLCC’s International School of Aviation Excellence in New Iberia.

As Dean of Student Services, Pavey will be responsible for providing vision and strategy to key services areas for students, including academic advising, retention, testing services, disability and counseling services, center for tutoring and learning, career and transfer services, student engagement, student assessment, and special grant programs.

Katheryne PaveyPavey most recently served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Student Affairs at Ivy Tech Community College, a multi-campus college serving more than 180,000 students.

"I'm excited to join an elite staff that provide everyday excellence," said Dr. Pavey. "SLCC is changing lives and making the Louisiana workforce great."

 

Pavey began her educational journey at Danville Area Community College in Illinois, where she received her Associate of Science degree. She now holds her doctorate in higher education from Southern Illinois University.
