Industrial Trades Job Fair Aug. 7 on Lafayette Campus

Job Fair Aug. 7

SLCC’s Corporate College will host a job fair focused on the Industrial Trades on August 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will take place at SLCC’s Lafayette Campus in the Ardoin Building at 1101 Bertrand Dr. Welders, auto technicians, HVAC repairmen, truck drivers, carpenters, and other skilled tradesmen are encouraged to attend.

This is a free event that is open to the public. Job seekers can pre-register for the Industrial Trades Job Fair at http://bit.ly/SLCCJobFair.

“We are hosting the Industrial Trades Job Fair to give employers the opportunity to meet hundreds of job seekers that have chosen a career path as a skilled tradesperson,” said Nancy Roy, Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for SLCC’s Corporate College. “We’ve heard from our business partners some positions are open for months because they can’t find qualified, enthusiastic team members. In-person events allow recruiters to pre-screen potential employees and for job seekers to find employers with jobs that match their skills.”

Local companies will be able to exhibit at no charge. SLCC’s Corporate College requires only that you have current job openings or will have job openings within the next 60 days in the industrial trades such as transportation, construction, manufacturing, distribution, automotive repair, or HVAC repair. Exhibitors must register before July 31 at http://bit.ly/SLCC-CC-Exhibitor.

SLCC’s Corporate College was established in 2015. This division of SLCC offers short-term training for in-demand jobs to meet the needs of the community’s workforce.
