Practical Nursing

Our Practical Nursing program prepares students to meet the licensure requirements for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), as established by the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners (LSBPNE).

The program progresses from simple to complex and consists of classroom instruction, lab practicum, and supervised clinical activities in accredited hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care agencies.

WHEN/WHERE: PN programs are offered at our Abbeville, Crowley, Lafayette, Morgan City, Opelousas, St. Martinville, and Ville Platte campuses. Night classes are available in Lafayette.

Whether you want to work in a hospital, physician's office, nursing care facility, school, or in home healthcare services, SoLAcc will prepare you for life as a nurse after graduation.

Flexible Options

Choose your career pathway with different track options. And once you graduate, you'll get licensed by passing the NCLEX exam. Then, you can begin your career right away, or continue your education to get your Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Licensed Practical Nursing: 4 semesters
Registered Nursing: 2 years + prerequisites
LPN to RN: 3 semesters + prerequisites
