CAREER PATHWAYS
Did you know you can enroll in college without a high school diploma?
You can start at SLCC as a college student, without having earned a high school diploma, as part of the Work Ready U Career Pathways program.
Students prepare to take the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) and enroll in a technical program of study at the same time in the Career Pathways program. Choose from a variety of high-demand, high-wage fields including:
- Application Software Development
- Civil Surveying & Mapping
- Diesel Powered Equipment Technology
- Digital Media Design
- Drafting & Design Technology
- Commercial-Industrial Electrical Technician
- Industrial-Agricultural Mechanics Technology
- Information Technology
- Medical Assistant
- Oil & Gas Production Technology
- Welding
Plus, financial assistance is available through SLCC’s 5 for SIX scholarship program, which covers the first six credit hours (2 courses) of the chosen program for those who qualify. Upon successful completion of the 2 courses (with a grade of C or better), students become eligible to apply for Pell funding, which may continue to pay for college.
