Precision Machining

Do you want a career in manufacturing? Our 14-week Precision Machining Technology program is the perfect opportunity to get started! You'll learn CNC programming and how to operate manual lathes and milling machines.

Plus, you'll get to manufacture, assemble, test, and repair various parts and machines used in manufacturing.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Students learn to apply technical knowledge and skills to plan, manufacture, assemble, test, and repair parts, mechanisms, machines, and structures in which materials are cast, formed, shaped, molded, heat treated, cut, twisted, pressed, fused, stamped or worked.

Once you complete this course, you will earn certifications in NIMS Machining Level 1, Milling Level 1, and Turning Level 1, along with NCCER Core.

WHEN/WHERE:

  • Morgan City - 20 weeks: Starts April 29, 2024 (day class)
  • Lafayette - 14 weeks: Starts June 3, 2024 (day class)
  • New Iberia - 6 months: Starts in August 2024 (night class)

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 16+
  • No High School, GED or HiSET required*

*A high school or HiSET diploma is required for most financial aid grant applications.
