REAPPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
The 2015-2016 Free Application for Federal Student Aid is now available.
Why should you complete the FAFSA for 2015-2016?
PELL Funding- Eligibility for PELL Grant Funding is based on the information students provide on the FAFSA. Many students don’t believe they are eligible for PELL and don’t complete the FAFSA, which means many students don’t get PELL who are eligible, at least for some funding.
Student Loans- Many students may not be eligible for PELL Grant Funding, but also don’t have enough funds to cover the costs of going to school. Student Loans offer a safety-net in the event other sources of college funding become unavailable.
TOPS- The State of Louisiana requires all TOPS recipients to complete either the FAFSA or the LOSFA TOPS application. Because TOPS students may be eligible for PELL Grant funding in addition to TOPS, you are encourage to complete the FAFSA so the school can help you obtain all funds for which you are eligible.
If you need assistance completing the FAFSA for 2015-2016, please feel free to attend a FAFSA Workshop sponsored by the Financial Aid Office. Workshops are held every Monday evening from 5:30pm to 7:00pm in the Ardoin Building, Room 114. You must reserve a space by sending an email to FAFSA Workshops that includes your full name and phone number.
