RESUME SERVICES

Why Have a Resume?

A professional resume is the first step in conducting a successful job search. The primary purpose of a resume is to market your skills, education, and professional experience in a way that leads to an employer calling you to schedule an interview.

Developing a Resume

There are several different formats you may use when developing your resume. Below are the three basic types of resumes that are commonly used. Click on the title to see an example of that type of resume.

Chronological Resume

This is the most traditional and commonly used resume. It lists your work experience and education in reverse chronological order.

Functional Resume

This style of resume highlights your skills and accomplishments in specific areas without focusing on individual job duties. Instead, you explain your experiences under major skill headings.

Combination Resume

This style of resume is a hybrid of both the chronological and functional formats. The combination resume emphasizes your transferable skills, accomplishments and abilities combined with your work history.
