Young Memorial Campus

Young Memorial Campus FAQs

Later this summer, the Young Memorial campus of South Central Louisiana Technical College along with the Louisiana Marine and Petroleum Institute at Fletcher Technical Community College will become members of the SLCC community. The realignment is part of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System's Strategic Sustainability and Growth Plan. The Young Memorial campus is located in Morgan City and LAMPI is in Houma.

What does all of this mean?  It means the citizens of St. Mary Parish will have more education and training opportunities as LCTCS will now have one college focused on serving the parish.  In addition, it brings to the SLCC family additional programming we don't currently offer and will hopefully allow us to offer programming in the Morgan City area that is not currently available.

The transition will take time as we work with our accrediting agency and the U.S. Department of Education.  Our goal, however, will be to have seamless service to students and the community throughout the transition process.
