Summer 2020 Program Updates

SLCC has made some adjustments to its summer schedule and we wanted to let you know about these adjustments. Find your program below for an update on our summer course format changes. In addition, we are including some definitions for your reference.  Summer Online Graphic

Hybrid Course – Courses will begin remotely via canvas, and as soon as it is safe to return to campus, they will resume via on-campus sessions.

Distance Education/Online Learning Course – Two types of distance education/online courses will be offered:

  • synchronous (meetings at the same day and time online using Zoom, Webex, or Big Blue Button)
  • asynchronous (work in the canvas classroom with set due dates, but no set class interactions). 

Update Not Available  – SLCC is currently working with State and Federal agencies to create pathways for students to complete coursework in programs that are currently not available. Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot provide an update on this endeavor. Check the SLCC website and your SLCC email regularly for program updates. Please know, SLCC is committed to its students and will resume programming as soon as possible.  

Fall Program Status: all programs should continue registration as normal. Here are the exceptions - Aviation Maintenance Technology, Culinary Arts and Occupations, Helicopter Aviation, Practical Nursing, Machine Tool Technology, Nursing - LPN to RN, and Welding. We will not have updates here until late April on our exceptions. Current students, please continue to monitor your SLCC email.
