South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc) is expanding healthcare training opportunities in Iberia Parish with the addition of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program at its New Iberia Campus.

"Healthcare begins with people who are committed to serving others," said Dr. Vincent June, Chancellor of South Louisiana Community College. "By bringing our Certified Nursing Assistant program to New Iberia, we're expanding access to quality workforce training while helping healthcare providers build the compassionate, skilled workforce our rural communities depend on."

Over six weeks, students will gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to begin careers in hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare settings. The program includes classroom instruction and supervised clinical experiences that prepare students to sit for the Louisiana Certified Nursing Assistant examination.

Students will complete their clinical training at Maison Teche Nursing Center, where they will apply their skills in a real healthcare environment under the guidance of experienced professionals.

"Preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals is both a responsibility and a privilege," said Hayley Boutte, Administrator of Maison Teche Nursing Center. "Maison Teche is proud to serve as a clinical site for SoLAcc CNA students, helping build a workforce grounded in compassion, excellence, and service to others."
