SLCC Announces New DEI Council

In alignment with SLCC’s commitment to provide a safe, positive, equitable and inclusive environment for employees and students, the college recently formed a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council.

The purpose of the DEI Council is to hold the institution accountable in the integration of DEI into all aspects of teaching, working, programmatic initiatives, learning, and assessment. The work of the Council will be woven into the college’s Everyday Excellence culture.

Members of the inaugural DEI Council are:

  • Communication and Marketing representative: Christine Payton – Communications and Marketing Director
  • Disability Resources Center representative, or a representative with knowledge of ADA: Dr. Cheryl Frugé
  • HR or Strategic Engagement representative: Alicia Hulin – Executive Director of Human Resources and Strategic Engagement
  • Faculty Senate Representative:

  • Center for Professional Development representative: Kevin Browning – Director, Center for Professional Development
  • Center for Minority Excellence representative: Kelita Johnson – CME Academic Success Coordinator
